Heightmap Template

Description

Generate heightmaps of your terrains quickly!

This template lets you save time producing beautiful heightmaps by doing most of the setup work for you. It's so simple, even new Blender users can readily use it.

Choose one of several standard resolution size presets, adjust your camera size to fit your terrain, assign the pre-made heightmap material to the terrain, and hit F12 for a beautiful heightmap!

This template is a must-have for game developers who use heightmaps in game engines, though useful for anyone who needs a landscape heightmap.A PDF quick guide is included.

*NOTE: This template only works properly in Blender 2.67 or higher. Also, DO NOT save the Heightmap Template at any point (unless you purposely want to define a new template)*

This is __fantastic__! I use .stl files for modelling CNC projects, and if you have ever tried searching for "convert .stl to heightmap" you will see a million ways to go from a heightmap to a model, but very little on how to go from a model to a heightmap. Finding this template was a godsend.

Hey, I downloaded the file and it downloaded as a .zip.html. I converted it to a .zip and then imported it as an application template, but I didn't see any of the template features shown in your video. Am I missing a step? Thanks

Has this ever been updated for later versions of Blender? I can't get it to work right in 3.6.
