I found it interesting to know why you used an alternate method for rending a 'z' pass when you had the z pass as standard on your normal image node, a map value node with ~0.1 size would work just as well. Do you find it better?

The square version of the render would make a fantastic basis for a book cover, but I would have to think about what I would add to make a story out of it. The blend is very evocative; very primitive. Perhaps a pterodactyl or some other scary winged reptile in the sky, and maybe a precarious raft with a couple of shocked figures clinging on.

really useful! the water reflection is great. I don't like low poly stuff, but once i'd put on a multi resolution mod, it was just what i needed.
