X tileable cliff

Description

3d reconstruction of a cliff suitable especially for not very close up; mesh decimated from a much higher poly to be easily editable.

It's tileable in the x direction.

Unfortunately Gimp is not able to edit 2 layers at same time: in my case i was interested about cloning at same time diffuse+normal. If you know some workarounds or free/ open source methods let me know in the comments!

About the GIMP editing: I have never tried that before, but I guess you could add extra channels on the first layer containing the second layer you want to edit. Of course this would work better with a bump or a specular map, that are grayscale (i.e. just one channel). Let me know if it works.

Thanks, i have tried that but seems like i cannot edit at same time all the channels; maybe is me that don't know how to let it work...

If you baked this onto a lower poly version, say 5000-7000 faces, this beauty would look amazing in a game. Just sayin'.

Youre right, i wanted to upload a low poly of that but with the normalmap of the higher poly model; problem is that later i don't know how to edit normalmap+diffse to let it be tileable/seamless...anyway i think that in 10-20 min you can do a low poly of this, maybe also in 5 min if you simply decimate without minding about the topology.

You can duplicate the high poly version and decimate the model to say 15-20% of it's proportion and use Blender's bake feature and it will bake the high poly detail into the low poly model. I'm sure there are plenty of tutorials out there that can go much more in depth.
