This inspired me. I didn't download your blend but started playing around with the idea and came up with an Impossible Bow Tie, posted on Blender Artists with credit for the inspiration. Looking at your renders I think I;ve used a slightly different method to produce the effect. I'll submit the blend here.

Pretty cool, I always liked this kind of visual trickery. One thing that I could just be remembering wrong is the top. Along the faces pointing to the left of the camera on the top, shouldn't there be a face at the second block? Either way, it looks awesome.
