Piano Finish Material

Description

This is a piano finish material node with crisp reflections. The story behind this blend is quite interesting. I was looking for a good car paint material on blendswap. I found two and downloaded them. But then I realised that for good quality renders they required external images or studio setup. I did not want to depend on external sources for my renders. So I decided to create my own car paint material independant of external images and with good reflections. Experimenting with various nodes I found glossy shaders were the most useful. So I arranged them in several ways and for three hours I kept experimenting with them. Finally, I got this material in my final attempt. I was unsatisfied with it as it was way too shiny and unrealistic for a car paint but then suddenly a piano commercial turned up on my television. I realised that the piano had the same kind of material that I had created. It was shiny and very reflective.

In this way, a failed experiment turned into a useful material. A glossy shader named "Black intensity: is present in the node tree. Tweaking its roughness will allow you to set the shininess of the black reflection on top of the base coat. A single RGB node controls all the variations of the base coat which is green in the preview. I hope you like this material and it proves useful to you. __No need to attribute me in any project in which you use it. It is totally yours and you can do anything you want !!! :D__

@Aurum Its just a glossy shader that I renamed for its function. It controls the intensity of black and the saturation of the base colour into it. That is why I renamed it as "Black Intensity" so that the people who download it will be able to tweak the finish without much hassle.
