Description
Another procedural wood. I made the veins more grainy, and I added distressing. The 'Distress' parameter should look best between 0 and 1, but if you want to go higher you will get bigger marks. I wouldn't go above 5 because it starts to look weird. There is also better control of the positioning of the wood grain.
Enjoy!

This is great, thanks!
Glad you like it!
Great material.
Thanks, i hope you find a good use for it
pc cant handle ... blender crashed 10/10
Sorry to hear. What kind of PC do you have? Mine is an i5 processor with 8 GB of RAM, and I don't have a good video card.
Absolutely excellent. How it follows the grain on over corners is mindbogglingly cool
Thanks! I have been trying to study real wood more so hopefully I can continue to improve.
Thanks! That's what's cool about procedural shaders instead of texture maps...they're more like a solid object than just a surface.
Wow! This is terrific! This is def a texture that blender people could use! Thanks!
Hi nice job, but i don't understand how to apply this texture on an other object. could you help me ? thank's a lot capo All right i found how it works, thank's
Actually it was this one lol (I made a piano and posted a comment on the other texture you made)
This is the first real pbr wood shader in this quality that i have found ! Thank you for sharing it!!!!
Hi Bananaboy, I'm glad you like it! It's not very realistic, but if it fits the style you want then by all means use it. However, if you want more realistic shaders, check out my newer ones: [Red Oak](https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/84699) and [Maple](https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/89412) These two have been made by studying real wood and how it grows.
I transferred the shader to another element. I get the wood color but not the structure displayed. What am I doing wrong?
It could depend on the scale of your object. I believe this material ball is something like 20cm in size, so if your object is large the grain could be too small to see.
Hello, thanks for sharing, Can i use the materials for commercial in an addon with GPL license?
