Cycles Swimming pool

Description

This is a photo-realistic swimming pool made with the cycles rendering engine. I Tried to keep it mid-poly but still high-quality. It has 253,101 verts, 354,465 faces, 509,232 tris, for 16 objects total.

Nice work. Just a little CC, the wall's texturing can use some work. ;)

Very true, but I started this project nearly half a year ago so I figured it was time to do SOMETHING with it. Any specific suggestions for the walls?

I'd suggest doing a full fledged brickwall, but that's where my advice ends, I do not know how to make a nice looking brickwall, I'm sure there's an addon for generating those, and some BlenderGuru tutorial that explains it well :)

Should I use the cycles brick texture or an image?

As I said, while I can see where the pitfalls are, I'm not the rigt person to talk about implementation. That said, I think the cycles brick texture would give you some very good results, specially if you layer some cycles textures in the node editor to generate an irregular pattern. Again, I'm sure there are tutorials for Cycles-based brickwall out there. :)

Not THAT realistic, I mean the surface is nice but you don't have any refraction, the bottom edges of the pool should be sort of wiggly, not strait (since your surface isn't calm) also the opposite wall should look way shorter (on Z axis) then it really is. If the pool is 2m depth on the opposite size, when you look from this sort of angle it should look like its way shallower. https://imgur.com/ETKHER2 I am sure you can find a better reference if you google it more.
