You are quite right. The similarity is remarkable. There are small differences in many of the details, but this is very close to being the Iron Giant. Close enough that it *could* be considered fan art. Peace.

I like it, one thing try to make the mesh less heavy, if anybody try to animate it will be a problem at the time of rendering. cheers

I compared the two side by side and would say that there are crucial differences. The Iron Giant has a pointed out face at the center line. The emphasis is on the nose and up. Robo has a flat face with the emphasis on the jaw. Totally different characters. Not fan art.

Yeah, but you can't deny they look similar. Also, agreed, i think Iron Giant may was an inspiration to this model but not a recreation.
