It's a highly detailed model of Vasa ship, famous Swedish ship, that sank immediately after it touched water :D
I don't even know if i'll be able to assemble it on my laptop, cause it's going to be extremely complex structure. Original has over 700 sculptures and carvings on it, but i'm making only those visible from outside, if you'll search it online you'll see what a beauty it is :)
Right now i'm making upper part of stern ( bow, 10 sculptures and decorations) and already i've reached over 100k verts, without any subsurfs...
I'll probably fail, but it's fun to struggle :D
Wow. I know that ship! I have wanted to visit the museum, but not yet done so. I live in Finland, so I sometimes visit also Stockholm with my friends. We have very effective seaway between Finland and Sweden. Are you from Sweden? That is really cool project. Hope you can finish it! I also love history and those ships, so it would be really really interesting to see your achievement! :)
No, i'm from Poland. I've also wanted to visit that museum, ever since i've saw the ship picture :)
As for the model, it's gonna take lots and lots of work to do it as good as i want it to be. I probably finish it at some kind of mind-controlled quantum supercomputer, that's how long it might take :D
If you are interested, there is also another one Swedish ship, that is currently lying on the seabed, but the divers found it just a few years ago. Its name was warship Mars and it also was Swedish flagship years before Vasa. It sink down just like Vasa... :D
