Description
I made this planet shader because it makes it easier to make space scenes.
To put it in you .blend complete the following steps.
1. Open your .blend
2. Go to the file menu and select append or press shift f1
3. select Planet Shader.blend and select the file called nodetree than select Planet Shader
4. then go to the node editor press "shift a" and open the group drop down menu and select planet shader.

This shader also seems to be pretty good at gaseous celestial bodies. Replace some or all the diffuse shaders in the group with emissions, and vary their strengths, then reduce the bump height and increase the distortion for stars and gas planets.
