Procedural Lava shader

Description

Custom procedural lava node tree.
This blend uses some new features, so you have to download the latest official build for this to work. For this blend you need Blender 2.79.3 at least. Also enable the experimental feature set for the microdisplacement proper results.

You can download experimental builds here:

Looks amazing, too bad that i'm still stuck to v.2.76.

Cant you use the new version?

A

Unfortunately no. I have very old, low tech laptop that doesn't support necessary openGL to use any version beyond 2.76. Believe me, i've tried :)

Sorry to hear that :( You could try disconneting the Displacement node and use Math multiply instead. I believe the 2.76 has microdisplacement in experimental also. If you use the same value (it should be negative though) you should get pretty much the same result :) Just remember to also enable the adaptive dicing in the subdivision modifier :)

This lava shader is excellent, better than a lot of paying things we can find. Thanks a lot for sharing it

Excellent work! And impressive that it still works fine with 3.6. One question: could you tell me how to animate it? I've tried playing around with the nodes, but I'm not much of an expert there. Thanks for creating!
