Description
Fully procedural water for Cycles. Realistic and highly customizable for full creative freedom.

Keep in mind that the caustics are based on the shadow ray, the texture used for created the shape act like a mask that let the light pass or block it. The more the caustics will be depth, the more they will be blurred (related to the penumbra shadow effect). So if you want sharp and realistic pattern, you have to keep your scene dimensions pretty low.

This file already contains an HDRi background find on this site : http://adaptivesamples.com/tag/hdri/ . It also contain another sky nodegroup for basic ambient lighting purpose.
Hope you enjoy, good blend! ;)

nicccce.
Thank you!
NIce So there is no way to do this for Eevee because of shadow rays?
Lightpath node is Eevee compatible (most rays types are at least) so the whole thing shold be working in real time but its actually meant to be used with Cycles at the moment.. I cant guarantee good results otherwise. Im still working on it so maybe I will do an Eevee compatible version at some point :)
I meant, the last time (Blender 2.81) I used Lightpath to fake Voronoi caustics, I had to use Cycles because the shadow ray didn't work in Eevee cause its not a ray tracing engine.
Awesome! Thanks!
Thanks a lot!
Very Helpful In my landscapes.
I would love to see that!
Thank you for your hard work. I will try it on a pool, but I cant run cycles on my tiny comp, so I will see how it goes with eevee and get back to you
This is AWESOME! Some of us could use a Video Tutorial to learn more from this tremendous effort. Thanks a Lot. Nino
