Procedural Cloud For Cycles (Easy Customization)

Description

This procedural cloud is made using blender 2.91’s ability to convert meshes into volumes. **You can customize this cloud super easily: simply create a rough cloud shaped mesh, select volume object, and set its first modifier’s object field to your cloud shaped mesh. That’s it! Don’t forget to hide your cloud shaped mesh from the render.** The volume displace modifier is then used to make the volume look cloud-like and natural (this is already set up).

Nishita Sky Environment Texture and cloud texture are already set up and ready to go. The compositor also has the denoising node set up to make rendering super fast!

I don't know how it works. Create a new mesh (i.e. a plane) then select 'Volume Object'.... is where I get stuck

The volume object is the object (it is already created) that contais the volume. You'll find it in the list of objects, or you can just click on the current cloud to select it. I hope this helps!

Youtube "Volume Object Blender" to get a general idea of what the process is, and how to apply it to your projects. It's extremely handy, especially when constructing intricate scenes

Yes! @CRAFTW3RK is right. There are plenty of tutorials online on how to do this. Once you watch one, using this Blender file will just be a shortcut to setting up the Blender file yourself.
