V2 Pod Racer

Description

A V2 pod-racer

Was originally planned for a tutorial on blendercookie, however as I have now taken on a professional concept artist, There is a far more detailed one planned for this tutorial.

So I can release this model :P

has basic node based materials,

relatively high poly.

has cockpit, engine etc

medium-low level of detail compared with my other work, but usable on lower end computers :D

has node setup for energy beam

and repeating loops for beam + fans(i think)

check out my website :D

Really great model, and I'm not even a big Star Wars geek. Wondering what kind of box your modeling on, cause this thing lags on my quad-core mac with 8gb of ram. Damn, gotta download this one and look into it, the clay render is beautiful, the detail is amazing, just looked at the engine layer...Amazing. Great job and Great share.

thanks :D I use a laptop :P quad core 5Ghz (20Ghz) 8Gb ram 2.5Gb Graphics 400ish CUDA cores not much lag, turn on simplify if you like, it's about 1 million poly originally was 3M poly but I took alot of detail out of it, the one that's going to be for the tutorial is looking to be about 1m poly with a 8m poly detail layer :P Once again thanks :D

This is head and shoulders above your original model. Great job! Apart from needing more texturing (it looks too perfect), it's a great piece of work. Keep it up!

Thanks :D Yeah there is actually no texturing included in the tutorial :P these materials are something I threw on for a render haha
