Description
This is the same bedroom I did a while ago, but now rendered with cycles.
Edit (24 October 2011):
- Added textures (you need to unpack them from the .blend file)
Textures are from [OpenFootage](http://www.openfootage.net/), [PlainTextures](http://www.plaintextures.com/) and [GoodTextures](http://www.goodtextures.com/) (I believe all of them allow this)
- Updated the file to cycles r41246
- Improved some materials and light
Edit (07-09-2012):
- Fixed for blender version 2.63a
Note: If you get a black render image, remember that you need to unpack the textures (File/External Data/Unpack into Files)

wow. That's beautiful. You should post that on CG Society and see what people say 0_0
@MirceaKitsune, Thank you very much! :) In part it's thanks to Cycles ;) @b3n_m0rgan, Thanks! :) I don't know if this has enough quality to post it at CG Society, there are amazing artists there, but I'll think about it! Thanks ;)
No idea what's is causing that :P Try to download the version I have in my blog (look to my profile), it has all the textures. If that doesn't help, maybe it's different cycles versions!! I really don't know :(
@John5200 because of the Terms of Use of Blend Swap I couldn't include the textures. You have two solutions! Look for similar textures on any site related to that, or download the file I have on my blog (you can find my blog in my profile) ;)
Nice job ! I learned a lot with this scene. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! :) Glad it was of some use to you :D
Great! :)
I did this a while back and probably there might have problems with newer versions of Cycles. I'll look into that as soon as possible and update the file here ;)
Now that the directional sunlight is implemented into Cycles, I'd recommend to rebuild the shader of the curtains: I used a mix-shader with a translucent and a transparent bsdf input to let a part of the sunlight into the room. Great work, btw.!
Thanks BYOB and thanks for the tips :) I uploaded a new version, hopefully everything looks ok now. You should get the same result as the image above (remember to unpack the textures).
@Butti did you unpack the textures?
That's strange! Check the path of the textures of each material, it should be something like "//textures/texturename.jpg" if the textures folder is at the same path as the .blend file.
Muito bom mesmo! meus parabens pelo trabalho ficou perfeito!
Obrigado Alexandre! :)
hi and thanks ! i unpacked the textures -> how can i reassign them ? ty !
They should be automatically reassigned (check if the textures folder name is textures or texturas), but this was created with an older version of cycles and it's possible that doesn't work well with newer versions.
Great work is amazing is this a tutorial or just file.blend?
Thanks! :) This is just the blend file, I didn't create a tutorial.
Thanks SlykDrako. I still have to get a hang of Cycles lighting. This will come in handy :) For those still having trouble with the textures, try the "Find Missing Files" option somewhere in the file menu.
Glad you find it useful :)
Finally something professional in cycles ^_^
Thanks! :) That means a lot to me, because I'm not a professional in the area. I think there are a lot of professional renders here at blendswap ;)
really great work's, this is very cool..... :D
Thanks! :)
wow this is a cool model
Thanks you! :)
thanks for sharing...!!
I like to share my knowledge! Blendswap is just great for me :)
Cool blend man, I think your materials set-up is pretty good I used the bed from it to do an interior render for class, I changed it a little bit hope you don't mind. thumbs up Cheers.
I don't mind at all! I'm glad you find this useful :)
I can't see anything! I unpacked the files but it still doesn't show me anything at all! What the problem might be?
Try to re-download it again. I fixed it to work with blender 2.63a and reduced a lot the file size.
thanks..really cool
Hi, very nice model. Please give me an idea, how would I switch on the lights in the chandelier? I try to select the bulb in side the globe and give it an emission....
Thanks! Try, instead, to give the emission shader to the glass, or a mix with the shader that already has.
Very nice scene! Great job!
Thank you! :)
How long did the scene take to render? What are your computer specs? :)
I cant remember exactly how long it took, but it was like 5 hours or something like that. The computer was a borrowed one (mine is very old for this kind of renders), and I believe it was an AMD with 4 cores, cant remember the exact specs, sorry :P
Maybe a bit late but it's better later than never ) Just for estimation. Pentium D 930 (2 core) @ 3GHz; RAM 3 Gb; winXP 32bit; blender v2.70; Resolution 960x720; bounces 2-20; samples 500; render time 6 hours. In CPU mode. I afraid even imagine how long would it take on default settings (10K samples with 128 bounces). :-/
Absolutely stunning!
Amazing! My computer would explode though :(
This is excellent. But when I go to your site to download the textures, I get a virus warning from Avast: JS:HideMe-J which is a Trojan. Any ideas?
Thank you! :)
Hey, This is a great model, but i have the same problem as some people already noted in this thread. The textures don't load! Is it because of my blender version? i am using blender 2.67. I have tried renaming the textures folder to texturas, but this didn't work. regards.
I am getting a weird pink color on everything when i render.
That's probably because of blender version. Check the materials for something that's not connected, and try to reassign the textures (reload them). Hope that helps!
I solved this by copying all the texture image files in the 'main folder' to the 'texture' folder, which came empty when i downloaded this blend.
Very nice model! I think you can even get a more realistic lighting by changing some settings: * Set the world surface strength to 1.4 * Turn off Ambient Occlusion * Set the sun color to Blackbody, temp 6400, strength 1.4 Have fun!
For those who are having problems with missing textures, try this: * File / External Data / Find missing files. * Check "Find all files" at the left bottom * Open the folder containing the textures * Click "Find missing files"
thanks for sharing this .. i will make this into an animation on my youtube channel :d lovebeyondnow .. thanks for your kindness ...
thanks for this but cannot find where the camera is as I want to change the perspective ? thanks
Excellent. Thank you.
WOW!!!
This comment is pretty old but for those of you wondering why the textures aren't showing up you need to go to File --> External Data --> Find Missing Files and locate where you extracted the files to. There should be a bunch of textures such as 'barks - 002'. Click 'Find Missing Files' in the top right corner and it'll fill in the blanks.
you need to work on the light more
really nice thanks!
i hope to see more like this in the future ! really nice
Nice one. I used your scene in a domino animation (mentioned your name as well). https://youtu.be/xqPw7pEP0Gc
Thanks for sharing. Great job. A small point: the file would not open the first time I downloaded it. Second time, no problem. Other than that, nice room. Learned a lot from it.
Nice!
nice!!!
