Fan art of evangelion
Eva unit 00, its an adaptation of the original from gainax, i redesign most of the armor and remove some parts, you will see as soon as you see.
The rig is not great, im not a rigger, but it works, one of the objectives of this model were to learn how to rig and even when I`m terrible at it at least i learn a few tricks =^~=
By the way thanks to all the people who help guide or gave me answers along the way.
lot of people from [blenderheads.org](http://www.blenderheads.org), feedback from irc channels one of them from a forum[ http://www.blendpolis.de](http://www.blendpolis.de) (tobain) who with out knowing him he gave me the answers that i need to rig the arm, showing the spirit of the blender community.
There is a mat cap texture that i tweaked(CC by), it was done originally by Ben Simonds http://bensimonds.com/2011/07/31/basemeshes/

Cool model! Congratulations! now we only need Eva 01 and Eva 02! FYI Using Blender 2.59 in windows 64 bits I am seeing some issues in the arms , knees and head of the model if you press f12 to render. The head is black and the arms are a bunch of square colors. Using 2.60 RC1 arms and knees are fine, but I am getting the same problem on the head. De nuevo, exelente modelo! LC

I love this anime, I would like to see other units evangelion, you are producing them as well? And the original classics, like the manga and anime, you want to do too? Hugs and congratulations for the excellent work! I hope some day reach that level! =]
I notice that is not working well with 2.63 builds, ill update the model as soon as i can. until that i recomend to use 2.62 (pre bmesh) builds Older blender builds can be downloaded from: http://download.blender.org/release/

can use it for a game for commercial purposes?
im not sure. . . the design its based on a character, but its not the same, if you change the name and colors, you probably can use it, but better check it with a lawyer

do you base this on pure anime observation or do you have plastic figures? What an amazing job, I'm sure it brings tears to the fans haha.
I search images as reference an i found two about a possible live action movie, from that i took the silhouette, from there i created a base mesh and draw with grase pencil the details of the armor and joints, then sculpted the base mesh and finally re topology of everything.
Looks amazing and I don't say that often. The title says fan art, but it doesn't have the fanart making for the filters in the search.
at the time i uploaded this model that filter didn't exist and i don't come often around here, so ill check it now, at least try to ^^
