Blue Yeti Microphone (Detailed)

Description

This is a decent model that's free to use for whatever you like. It's a highly detailed model that focuses on clean topology. No booleans here!

If you need something to add to that desk scene you're working on, why not a high quality mic?

Rendered in cycles, 2000 passes. Blender 2.61

Wow. That is one nice model. Great work. A question. How did you generate the curves for the wires? By hand? Some observations. It has been my experience that subsurface > 2 is not necessary. I reduced them on your model and couldn't see a difference in the render ( note: assumes I have good eyesight :) ) And the wires. I spent a few minutes playing with them. Added a subsurface modifier to some. Really makes a difference. The flat faces don't give the specular highlights that a round wire does. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your thoughtful review jeffie. The curves were all done by hand. I tried a variety of methods including the cloth simulator and none of them really yielded the right results. I only did one quarter of them by hand though and used mirrors to get the other 3 quarters. I always bump up the subsurf levels for the final render. It just looks better to my eye and it's non-destructive so I don't see the harm. Good tip on the wires. I thought about subsurfing them, but I didn't want to add a lot of length to the render time for something I deemed too small to be noticed easily by eye.
