Metallic Paint Material for Cycles

Description

This is a cycles shader node that looks like a metallic paint or car paint. It includes 12 colors.

The model has been made by Robin Marin (tuqueque). You can find it in "http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?151903-b.m.p.s.-1.5!" It was created to test materials and has been adapted it to work with cycles. It is a CC-BY lincensed blend.

Enjoy it!

*EDIT: I have tested this shader with a hdri background, and it results too much clear. Reducing multiply factor inside the node to 1.2 can help you to get a good effect.

I love your shaders. I have difficulty following the logic sometimes. I'm barely beyond the mix (diffuse/glossy) shader stage, I've been reading your thread on blenderartists and find the whole process energizing. It's hard to find good cycles materials tutorials. Keep up the excellent work.

I really wish your materials would make it into trunk as presets. With all the talk of Blender's accessibility and usability, this would go a long way to ease people into Blender and get familiar with Cycles. These are a wonderful resource.. thanks so much!

I agree with you. I think it would be a great added value including material presets in Blender. There is an addon made by Peter Casseta for a cycles library, but I think it has problems every time Blender publish a new release.
