Ocean Scene

Description

Ocean scene I made for fun. Ready to render in Cycles.

Resolution is lower than rendered with so that it is easier to load.

Hey, thanks for sharing this I never figured out how to make the ocean material look good but this is going to be really useful for learning! At first my render was black: to fix this you have to go to "file>external data>unpack into files" I don't know if most people know this, but maybe its helpful. Anyway thanks for making this :)

im new to blender and been browsing and learning from files on this site. i love what blender can truly do but i am having a problem with what i feel is probably a very basic fix. i made an ocean and got it rendered as a quicktime mov file but the beginning seconds of the video are slow and then you see it flowing and then it slows down again when it reaches the end of the file. any suggestions that can lead me to fixing this? i am using Blender 2.62

It's not actually the video that's doing that, it's your ocean. After you add keyframes to the ocean in order to animate it, you're gonna want to go in the Graph Editor and change the keys interpolation mode from "Bezier" to "Linear" (Key > Interpolation Mode > Linear). Now if you play it back in the viewport before rendering, you will see that it remains a constant speed. I hope this helped you out.
