Description
My first organic model. Includes textures and normal maps as well as a non-animation-ready rig. Improvements may be made to the rig and softbodies may be added, but that will probably be some time in the future if it is going to happen.

Dinosaurs ftw!
Needs more feathers hombre. Its still good though. You can give it a coat of feathers by way of the particles.

Thanks everyone for your comments. To Braq: I knew I forgot something in the description! Feathers will probably be added sometime in the far future as well. I was actually going to do that before BlendSwap but forgot... sorry about that. I feel ashamed to have committed such a dino anatomy crime :(

there have been found some little dinosaur species with feathers but it is unknow if all of them use to have them or in wich amount they did, did they look like giants chickens? i dont think so it is know they had hollow bones like birds do so they were light and strong, that also changed the way we look at their position, from totally standing like penguins to stand more horizontal pose. whe will never know if they had feathers or if they did at a more evolved time. also their skin color and camo would be awesome to know how they really looked like. the model is completely ok acording to history we dont know if raptors or other bigger species had them, did gigantosaurus had them? we dont know. awesome model.

Actually I'm creating a Tyrannosaurus, next I will create a Brachiosaurus or a similar sauropod.

Thank you for a great Dino. I have a problem with the eyes. I cant get the eyes to move with the rig.
I forgot that too? :P Just parent the eyes to the head bone, I think that should work. I'll upload a revision sometime soon that will include changes.

Inside the mouth shots are exactly where this model sucks... but you made the model look good in both videos.

You could, by all means, use it in a game project, though it might be a bit highpoly for a game. It's a CC-0 license so you don't have to credit me, though I'd be grateful if you did.
try unity. it should be able to handle the raptor model.
Thanks; Ihad to ask permission; it's Rigs of Rods policy against mesh theft. (off topic: It gives me higher fps than the original truck driver; and is better quality.) I made him into a humanoid and gave him an new skeleton. If you ask; i got the idea off the raptorian hunter here on blendswap.(sorry this is so long)

Also, the rig isn't optimal for animation. Just a heads-up in case you eventually run into problems.

Hey great character, I'm fairly new to blender and seem to be getting caught up in the same place, I've been watching videos on youtube and it said you could animate in pose mode, so i went to it and and ill click the top head bone at the snout to open the mouth and the armature comes out and the teeth and eyes and the mesh warps, not sure what im doing wrong I just want to make an animation with this guy and i cant even figure it out, any ideas on what i could do?
The rig for this is terrible. I didn't work on the rig very much and it's not optimal for animation. If you want to learn animation, I would suggest using a rig that was designed for animation and not this abomination. :)

the model is wonderful (despite lack of feathers, but those arent easy to do) but when i move the rig around, the eyes dont move along with the rig. is there a way to fix this?

Hi guys, I'm animating this nice raptor, however - when exporting with MD5 exporter the mesh is horribly deformed... Anyone knows why?
