Low-Poly Tree

Description

A Low-Poly, slightly stylized deciduous tree. It's not really intended to look like any specific kind of tree, but it does look nice. It comes with handmade textures and normal maps, as well as a reduced-detail version(which can be used with an LOD system). The reduced detail version can be found on the second layer.

The file also includes a Game Engine script to make the leaf clumps' normals point away from the center of the tree, leading to much smoother shading. The script will only work in the game engine, and the tree is already set up to use the script- just press P to see it's effects.

The script was written by Smoking_mirror from the forum on blenderartists.org. Used with full permission of the author.

reall nice! did you plant all the planes manualy or did ye have some fancy trick??

It was all done manually. I made a simple base object consisting of two intersecting quads, and copied it over the whole tree. It took quite a long time to fill out the tree nicely and consistently.

Hello laser blaster, I am creating a video game to be released for the PC platform. I found your models on Blend Swap and have used them in my game. These are the models that are being used: - Low-Poly Tree Some or all of your models have been modified and/or combined with another user's work. You have licensed them all licensed under public domain, which waves all copyright laws on that work. I would like to have your name in the game's credits. I need you to send me the name that you want in the credits. I am willing to use your Blend Swap username if you wish. Please email any questions or concerns and your credit name to wob1997@msn.com. Signed, Made In Canada Games NOTE: If no reply to this message is received before October 20th, 2013 (EST), your Blend Swap username (NOT FULL NAME) will be used by default.

This is absolutely amazing! It looks like something straight out of Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword! The foliage in that game is absolutely amazing!

Actually, the textures are there. But for some reason they are not showing.

It's such a nice looking tree! It would be nice if it were to be updated to today's Blender version though. I am guessing that's why I cannot see it correctly once I open the blender file :(

Anyone knows how to convert the Leaves particle system to mesh? When I go to the modifier tab in the Properties window, and apply a modifier, the particle system disappears! :(
