in this case, this character dont have textures; the striped effect is a mix of the shadows and a striped texture in compositing

what you wanna know? is a realy simply setup, try to get blender "freestyle" is easy to use (you only need a basic tutorial, latter; put a light in you escene (works better if myour lamp is close of your camera) get the shadow and ambient oclusion pass and use a texture like mix factor...
