Ames room

Description

This is my first contribution to the Blend Swap community, and what better contribution is there than to make than this amazing Ames room? ([http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ames_room](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ames_room))

Since I couldn't find any good Ames room plans on the internet, I decided I'd try and make one myself.

I made the whole room by eye, which means that the measurements are probably not 100% accurate.

Love it! A true example of a perspective anamorphosis. Well done and thanks, especially for the instructions inside. I once spent an entire week of evenings on Youtube watching illusion videos LOL

Thanks! It's a really amazing effect, and I was really surprised when I saw the results I got with this. Glad you checked it out!

How did you figure out the dimensions? I've been scouring the internet for dimensions but I haven't found anything.

Sorry for the long delay, I don't come here often. I also couldn't find any dimensions anywhere, therefore I had to figure them out by myself. It's a lot easier than it sounds. I just had to put my view in the camera's perspective and model from there, making sure everything made sense. (Essentially, an Ames room only works from a specific perspective. Instead of modeling with perfect dimensions and figuring out where to place the camera, I reversed the process and modeled from the camera, if that makes sense.)

@Apos: Modelling from the camera view makes perfect sense; I've tried that method myself. You should come here more often, there's some terrific stuff uploaded. I am constantly inspired and educated.
