I am not sure of the terminology but it's toon shade with Eadge outline and i use nodes to cast the outline and control it.

okay, so you just set it up so it could look Cartoonish, But its still pretty awesome.

unfortunately i don't know who that is , i don't have a Male face or body modelled out and i got a long list of things to make if it clears up i will make him.

your models are great, but i dont know if its just me, but i cant seem to get it out of wireframe, is there some trick to this model???

.. it works fine for me .. may be you just need to upgrade to 2.63a .. Blender changed its geometry engine to support ngons so old versions can't display new models properly ..
