Description

A material for cycles that looks like it glows.

Please Note: This material does NOT, glow as i do not think that is posible in cycles.

If any body can make a cycles material that really glows please tell me (PM me on BA)

We can use the compositor to add the glow effect to the rendered picture

Does this Cycles glow material use the compositor, or is it a property of the object? As ThomasHuxleyFan says, that's how I've done this kind of thing in the past. There are some drawbacks to doing it in the compositor, though.

No it does not use the compositor, it uses the layer weight node (in the material) to make the edges look like they glow.

Well, now THIS can be a lot handfull!!! It´s good when you are creating a solar system scene. So we could make the star "glow" by using this material, and prevent the planets to glow as strong as the star, what I don't know if can be done in the compositor. Since I love make "space scenes", and I always faced this trouble, this really will be usefull. Great job ;)
