Good for being your first model. I recommend you to terminate edge-loops when you don’t need them any more. You can also divide the mesh into smaller sub meshes to make it easier to work with.
Nice work! With a detailed texture that gun will look pretty awesome for you first try. Been modeling for years but I always shy away from guns.
