I thought this was a photo when I first saw it. The wooden jaw is phenomenal.
Well the background IS a photo, of a parking lot near my house. It's just there to showcase the model. I'm still a Blender beginner, so maybe someday in the future I'll know how to make a background like that. ;) The jaw texture was made in Gimp, render effect -> clouds, then edge detect, and you get an organic line pattern.
Yes, but the effect as a whole is utterly convincing. The Rotogoyle looks like he's genuinely resting on the turf.
