Actually i would make a Plane and there is a Property that adds 1 for every touching the material of the plane (it could be invisble, i think). then put a empty at the point where you want to respawn (where your checkpoint is) Then if you, for example press Enter and your property is on 3 it is spawning the car with the Empty at Checkpoint 3. that´s a solution i think :D
