Blend Swap V6 is finally here!

Say hello to version 6 of Blend Swap! John has been working for the last year re-writing the site from the ground up. A lot of things have changed, so lets go over what is new.
# New Site Changes:
* Removed Questions
* Removed Requests
* Added 2.8 support
* Auto blend file checking
* All new UI
* New donation option
* General Asset License added
## Auto blend file checking
The site can now parse your .blend files and tell if all textures are packed. Because of that, .blend files are now required for all uploads. The site will not allow you to upload .zip, .rar, or any other file type, only .blend files can be uploaded.
# New donation options:
All previous subscriptions had to be removed because of this new change, YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE A NEW SUBSCRIPTION. There are now only 2 donation types,

This is basically the same as the old Associate Subscription, it is the same cost and has the same benefits.
## Donation
You can now help support the site with our new Donation option, this is a one time payment of whatever you’d like. Buy us a coffee or help us develop the next version of the site.

# Added 2.8 Support:
With the 2nd Release Candidate of Blender 2.8 now available, we have now added support for Blender 2.8 files. Users need to go and check all of their blend's category and 2.8 blender version settings.

Search is not initially working, it will be fixed soon.

Hello BlendSwap. I've tried searching for a blend file with the keywords "flower" and "flowerpot" but nothing close to that came out as results but something entirely different. I know the exact model I'm looking for as I have downloaded it before now(but it's lost). Can you please fix this.
Similarly, searching for "bike" returned a cannon, a female Santa, a wheelchair, several ancient wooden objects, a memory chip, a Star Wars light sabre, a Japanese piece of furniture, and some other things that were very decidedly NOT bikes. In fact, it looks almost as if it returns the negation of the query (let me try that ...) ;) EDIT - it must be something else yet ... searching for "Princess" returns some guns, a Viking helmet with the horns upside down, a cactus and a glass with ice cubes ... I REALLY would like to know how this works :D
Yes, the search engine is pretty broken... the new layout is great, but all my searches returned some completely unrelated blends.
Glad I'm not the only one! Searching for "animal" gave me a Flintstones-esque car, an armored car/tank, and the Colosseum. But it looks like it's consistent. I looked up "Princess" and also got some guns, a Viking helmet with the horns upside down, and a glass with ice cubes. Did the update to the site randomize how things are tagged?
John, your profile picture suggests you've been using an organ instead of a keyboard. Maybe this is what broke the search. Hope this helps. Thank you for your good work.
I would prefer still having text next to pictures. Having to mouse over / or clicking on everything to know what exactly is it by title is downgrade to browsing experience in comparison to before.
Do the downloads still refresh every month? I can't see any countdown thingy anymore.

why you remove questions and requests?? it was helpfull...
There are sites better suited to them, try blender stackexchange or blenderartists for questions and requests.
Honestly, I don't like UI changes. It is definitely more convenient to see the license on the thumbnail screen. Now it cost more time to get the license-free Blend files. Please add more information in the thumbnail screen as the previous version.
alright i understand... but still would like a way to contact the creator of blends for questions.. i guess i will stick to the comments..
Don't know if the site worked at first but I'm not seeing any preview images. I get a 500 error page if I try an image link manually. I also get a 500 error with the collections page. Static images in the categories list work. https://i.stack.imgur.com/v3TOy.jpg
Looks nice. One thing I'm missing: I liked the infos about likes, downloads and licence for every blend in the thumbnails. this was saving clicks in the end.
Don't like this at all. And search is not working right, I think much has just been lost!! Goodbye blendswap...

I can't find anything I used to. I have bypass blendswap entirely and use google advance search to find them. WTF?

@johnroper100: I just tried to reply to you but nothing happened, I'll assume the feature is broken and just reply with a comment instead: Basically the search is completely useless (you should really give it a try sometime). I am unable to find things I used to. This new search engine really blows; it delivers nothing but random results. Now I am forced to use Google advanced search (eg. inurl:"blendswap.com") to find actual usable results. Honestly, I tried all day to use this new layout but I can't use the site, I'm scrambling for alternatives here!!

Yes, need more information to the thumbnails.
The old UI was better, faster and with good overview. Tiles design like windows 8 is horrible. It makes work harder. No information on thumbnails, wtf ?
The new site is terrible. No information is shown about anything in the browse view anymore, just images. You can't see the title, the license, the size, nothing... Having to click down on every entry your interested in just to see license/size/creator is frankly ridiculous. Putting form over function is a horrible idea.
